Thai Delegation Proposes 10-Pillar Joint Action Plan in Assam
Delegates plan to formalize the action plan in sessions scheduled through July 18 after completing heritage showcase tours

- The delegation held a stakeholder interaction at NEDFi Haat to explore Assam’s textile heritage through pat, muga, eri and cotton fabric exhibits alongside local handicrafts and food products.
- At NEHHDC’s Craft Promotion and Experience Centre, Managing Director Mara Kocho outlined key assets including an OEKO-TEX certified Eri Silk spinning mill and a NABL-accredited textile testing laboratory.
- The proposed Joint Action Plan between NEHHDC and Thailand’s Creative Economy Agency comprises 10 collaboration pillars covering product development, artisan training, sustainable practices, digital trade and policy dialogue.
- Delegates will continue touring production units and engaging in formal discussions through July 18 to finalize and sign the collaboration framework.
- The visit aligns with India’s Act East policy by aiming to integrate Assam’s handloom and handicraft sectors into international creative economy networks.
