Thai-Australian Teen Fatally Stabbed in Dispute Outside Grocery Store
A 14-year-old suspect has been arrested after allegedly stabbing a schoolmate during a fight in Thailand's Chonburi province.
- The incident occurred on Tuesday night in Sattahip, Chonburi province, southeast of Bangkok, after the boys agreed to meet following a long-standing feud.
- The suspect, also 14, allegedly retrieved a kitchen knife from his car and stabbed the victim in the back after losing a physical fight.
- The victim, who had dual Thai-Australian nationality, was found collapsed at the entrance of a grocery store with the knife blade still in his back.
- The suspect, accompanied by his parents, surrendered to police an hour after the attack and faces charges including causing fatal harm and a weapons offense.
- The Chonburi Juvenile and Family Court released the suspect on 10,000 baht ($295) bail as investigations continue, with a maximum penalty of 15 years’ imprisonment for the charges.
