Overview
- The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation has announced a fleet of 7,000 special buses to handle expected heavy passenger flows for the Dasara festival.
- The deployment is broken down by zone, including about 3,533 buses from the Karimnagar zone, 2,155 from the Hyderabad zone, and 1,312 for Greater Hyderabad.
- TGSRTC said the 2003 GO No 16 authorises special-service fares up to 1.5 times normal rates and that those higher fares will apply on the identified high-demand travel dates.
- Key Hyderabad departure points such as MGBS, JBS, Uppal, Aramghar, LB Nagar Cross Roads, KPHB, Bowenpally and Gachibowli will have temporary amenities and staff, and advance bookings are available on the TGSRTC website.
- Women eligible under the Mahalakshmi scheme will continue to receive free travel on qualifying regular and special services, reducing costs for many festival travellers.
