TGL Season 2 Starts Sunday With Bigger GreenZone, Signature Holes and Broadcast Tech Boost

Upgrades aim to fix Season 1 glitches, using sharper visuals, richer data, redesigned holes.

Overview

  • Atlanta Drive GC faces New York Golf Club in Sunday’s opener at the SoFi Center, with all six teams returning to the league’s established format.
  • The GreenZone putting complex expands to 5,270 square feet with 12 hole locations and 608 actuators, reworked bunkers and a broader chipping area for more varied short-game shots.
  • TGL adds team-specific ‘signature’ holes—par-5s over 600 yards—plus redesigned returning holes built in Unity 6, alongside new concepts such as the Cenote par-3 from designer Agustin Piza.
  • Production upgrades include 79 cameras, 8K ultra-slow-motion, the SmartPin Cam, Virtual Eye shot-tracing and new virtual angles, with ESPN’s booth featuring Roberto Castro, Scott Van Pelt, Matt Barrie and Marty Smith.
  • Tiger Woods will not play at the start as he recovers from recent surgeries but is expected to attend Jupiter Links matches on a microphone, while Atlanta’s Justin Thomas is also sidelined and teams may use one-match replacements.
