TGICCC Conducts Hyderabad Mock Drill to Sharpen Monsoon Disaster Response

A consolidated performance report will refine standard operating procedures, improving training across disaster response agencies

Overview

  • The Telangana Integrated Command and Control Centre led a simulated building collapse drill in Secunderabad to assess monsoon disaster preparedness.
  • Officials from Hyderabad, Cyberabad and Rachakonda Police, fire services, NDRF, GHMC, health, SDMA and other agencies took part in the exercise.
  • A distress call to the Dial-112 helpline prompted 108 ambulances, traffic police and DRF units to arrive on site within 15 minutes.
  • Field responders, including fire tenders and SDRF teams, reached the simulated collapse site within 30 minutes to conduct rescue operations.
  • A post-drill war room review identified gaps and successes, and the TGICCC will compile findings to update standard operating procedures and training.
