TfL Schedules Widespread London Rail Closures for July 4–6 Engineering Works

A maintenance push will complete essential station upgrades under widespread closures with replacement buses available to ease travel

Overview

  • The Metropolitan line will be entirely closed on July 5 and 6 to allow for track and signal upgrades.
  • The Piccadilly line between South Harrow and Uxbridge will be suspended over the same weekend for critical maintenance.
  • The DLR will not operate July 5–6 between Bank/Tower Gateway and Canning Town/Lewisham or between Stratford and Canary Wharf with replacement bus services in place.
  • Cutty Sark remains closed until spring 2026 for a full escalator replacement and Roding Valley’s footbridge and westbound service will stay shut until the end of July.
  • Passengers are urged to use alternative routes, replacement buses and the TfL app for live journey updates during the weekend closures.
