TFJA Pleno Reaches Full 16-Member Bench for First Time Since 2015 Reform

The swearing-in of five Senate-ratified magistrates restores continuity to Mexico's administrative justice tribunal.

Overview

  • Five magistrates—Ariadna Camacho Contreras, Selene Cruz Alcalá, Ludmila Valentina Albarrán Acuña, Eduardo Santillán Pérez and José Ramón Amieva Gálvez—took their oaths on November 3.
  • The new members were ratified by the Senate in October and will serve 15-year, non-extendable terms.
  • TFJA president Guillermo Valls Esponda urged rulings that center the person behind each case and withstand both legal and ethical scrutiny.
  • He emphasized impartiality, autonomy, human rights, accountability, efficiency and anti-corruption as guiding pillars for the tribunal.
  • Filling years-long vacancies completes the Sala Superior’s Pleno and strengthens the tribunal’s capacity to handle administrative and fiscal disputes.
