Textron to End Beechcraft Bonanza and Baron Production, Pivoting to Denali

Years of waning sales prompted a shift toward the clean‑sheet Denali.

Overview

  • Textron will conclude Bonanza G36 and Baron G58 manufacturing once all current orders are completed.
  • The company says it will continue parts, service and engineering support for the large in‑service fleets worldwide.
  • Textron is reallocating investment to the Beechcraft Denali, whose GE Catalyst engine gained FAA certification in February 2025, with deliveries the company has said it expects to begin in 2026.
  • GAMA data show very low recent shipments for both models, including five Bonanzas and two Barons in 2024 and four Bonanzas and two Barons in the first half of 2025.
  • The decision closes a near eight‑decade Bonanza production run that began after the type’s first flight in 1945, with more than 18,000 Bonanzas delivered.
