Texas Woman Indicted for Murdering Missing 6-Year-Old Son; Authorities Hope Charges Expedite Her Extradition from India

Speculations Grow Regarding Child's Mysterious Disappearance as Mother's Backstory of Criminal History and Abuse Emerge, While Cadaver Dogs Detect Human Remains in Former Family Home.

  • Cindy Rodriguez-Singh, has been indicted on one count of capital murder, two counts of injury to a child, and one count of abandoning a child without the intent to return, in relation to her 6-year-old son, Noel Rodriguez-Alvarez, who has been missing since October 2022.
  • Family members reported that Noel, who suffered from mental and developmental disabilities, was subjected to abuse and neglect by Rodriguez-Singh including withholding food and water because she did not like changing his diaper.
  • Rodriguez-Singh and her husband, along with their six other children, fled to India in March 2023, two days after Child Protective Services started an investigation prompted by a tip about Noel's absence.
  • Investigators found evidence of human remains in a shed at the family's former home, upon which the family had suspiciously built a concrete patio just before fleeing to India.
  • Rodriguez-Singh, who has a crime history and was indicted while hiding in India, is now a priority for federal authorities to apprehend and extradite back to the U.S. where she will face charges.
