Texas Woman Accused of Locking 7-Year-Old Girl in Cage as Punishment

Houston woman allegedly zip-tied and caged child for hours without food or water, citing discipline for school behavior.

Rose Anderson, a 55-year-old Houston resident, has been charged with injury to a child and unlawful restraint.
Authorities allege Anderson zip-tied the 7-year-old girl, duct-taped her mouth shut, and locked her in a dog cage next to a Christmas tree.
The child was reportedly left in the cage for several hours without access to food, water, or a bathroom, leading her to urinate on herself.
Police say Anderson kicked the child during the incident, which she claimed was punishment for misbehavior at school.
Anderson is being held at Harris County Jail on a $10,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on January 6.
