- 17-year-old Madison Lewis died on January 7, 2024, from severe burns she sustained when 23-year-old Sebastian Lindsey allegedly threw a can of gasoline into a fire during a backyard gathering in December.
- Lewis was standing near a metal barrel where a small fire was burning when Lindsey allegedly threw the gasoline, causing her hair and clothes to catch fire.
- Instead of calling 911, witnesses drove Lewis to the hospital in a car, allegedly fearing getting in trouble due to the presence of alcohol at the gathering.
- Lewis was treated for burns over 90% of her body at Parkland Hospital in Dallas, where she was placed in a medically induced coma and underwent multiple surgeries.
- Lindsey was arrested on January 8 and charged with manslaughter. He is currently held in the Jack County Jail without bond.
