Texas State Trooper Kevin Ramirez Vasquez Dies After Being Struck by Vehicle

The 25-year-old trooper and U.S. Army veteran succumbed to his injuries two weeks after responding to a traffic crash in Ector County.

Trooper Kevin Alexis Ramirez Vasquez, 25, was struck by a vehicle on September 16 while responding to a traffic accident on State Highway 302 in Ector County.
He was initially taken to Medical Center Hospital in Odessa and later airlifted to Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock.
Ramirez Vasquez succumbed to his injuries on September 28, as announced by the Texas Department of Public Safety (TXDPS).
A graduate of the TXDPS Academy, Ramirez Vasquez was also a U.S. Army veteran and was serving in the National Guard.
He is the 241st officer to die in the line of duty since 1823 and is survived by his parents and three siblings.
