Texas Rep. Monica De La Cruz's Office Vandalized Following Her Support for Israel Amid Hamas Conflict

Vandals, allegedly pro-Hamas activists, targeted Republican Rep. Monica De La Cruz's office in two separate incidents amid GOP-support for Israel's battle against Hamas; ensuing police investigation seeks to identify suspects behind anti-Semitic graffiti.

  • Republican Rep. Monica De La Cruz's office in Texas was vandalized on Nov. 7 and 9, 2023, allegedly by pro-Hamas activists, following her expression of support for Israel in its conflict with Hamas.
  • The offensive graffiti included statements such as "Israel kills Jews too", "Monica Murders", and "Israel is doing genocide and you support it" spray-painted on the office windows and pavement, further inflaming tensions in an area already impacted by the international conflict.
  • De La Cruz, representing Texas's 15th district, confirmed the vandalism but declared it would not intimidate or silence her, and reiterated her firm stance against anti-Semitism and support for Israel.
  • The Congresswoman also moved to reassure local Jewish communities of her continuing support, stating 'An attack on one of us is an attack on all of us, and such abhorrent behavior has no place in our community, our state, or our nation.'
  • The McAllen Police Department is currently investigating the matter, which is one of a number of similar actions against offices of members of Congress who have expressed support for Israel.
