Texas Rangers Sign Seven Free Agents to Minor League Contracts

Veteran reliever Diego Castillo among the signees, with all players receiving invitations to spring training.

Texas Rangers have signed seven free agents to minor league contracts, including veteran reliever Diego Castillo.
Other signees include right-handed pitchers Gerardo Carrillo and Jesus Tinoco, catcher Andrew Knapp, and outfielders Sandro Fabian, Elier Hernandez and Derek Hill.
Diego Castillo has a career record of 24-18 with 35 saves and a 3.22 ERA, and opponents have a batting average of only .200 against him.
Jesus Tinoco had a 2.93 ERA in 38 appearances this year for the Saitama Seibu Lions of the Nippon Professional Baseball Organization in Japan.
Andrew Knapp, a 32-year-old switch-hitter, played 93 games at the Triple-A level for the Detroit and Houston organizations this year.
