Texas Rangers Appoint Skip Schumaker as Senior Adviser

Schumaker, former Marlins manager and 2023 NL Manager of the Year, joins the Rangers' front office.

Skip Schumaker, who led the Miami Marlins to the playoffs in 2023, has been hired by the Texas Rangers as a senior adviser for baseball operations.
Schumaker's tenure with the Marlins ended after a mutual agreement not to return for the 2025 season, following a challenging year with a 62-100 record.
Before managing the Marlins, Schumaker was a bench coach for the St. Louis Cardinals and played in the MLB for 11 seasons.
The Rangers also signed Venezuelan right-handed pitcher Luis Curvelo to a major league contract.
Curvelo, 24, had a successful season with the Double-A Arkansas team in Seattle's organization, boasting a 2.57 ERA over 49 relief appearances.
