Texas Murder Spree Suspect Previously Bailed Out by Soros-Funded Group
The Texas Organizing Project, which received over $1 million from George Soros' Open Society Foundations, is conducting an internal review after it was revealed they bailed out the suspect in February 2022.
- Shane James, the suspect in a Texas murder spree that left six dead and three injured, was previously bailed out of jail by the Texas Organizing Project (TOP), a group funded by George Soros.
- James was released in February 2022 after being booked for allegedly assaulting a family member. He had three pending cases in Bexar County, all for allegedly causing bodily harm to his relatives.
- Shortly after being released, James removed his ankle monitor, prompting police to issue a warrant for his arrest. Police did not apprehend him due to fear the situation could turn violent.
- TOP received over $1 million from George Soros' Open Society Foundations Network, with two donations, $700,000 and $565,000, provided in 2019 and 2021, respectively.
- TOP has stated that it is committed to conducting a comprehensive internal review of its program and processes in light of the tragic events.
