Texas Mobilizes Emergency Teams to Florida for Hurricane Milton

Governor Abbott directs deployment of resources as the Category 5 storm approaches the Florida coast.

Governor Greg Abbott has ordered the Texas Division of Emergency Management to send additional emergency response personnel to Florida in anticipation of Hurricane Milton's landfall.
An Incident Management Team from Texas will assist with command, planning, operations, logistics, resource coordination, and disaster finance in Florida.
Texas has also deployed swiftwater rescue boats and search and rescue teams to aid in potential flood relief efforts.
Hurricane Milton has been upgraded to a Category 5 storm, expected to be one of the most severe to hit the region.
The deployment is part of a broader response, with Texas also supporting recovery efforts in other southeastern states affected by Hurricane Helene.
