The teenage girl, Genesis Delgado, was struggling to stay afloat when Lopez intervened.
Jacob Bell, a boater, performed CPR on Delgado and later recovered Lopez's body.
A GoFundMe campaign has been launched to help repatriate Lopez's body to Mexico.
