Texas Man Charged with Assault on Flight to D.C. After Threatening Passengers and Crew

The suspect claimed he was traveling to Washington to speak with President Trump, citing anger as his motivation, according to FBI documents.

Asterius Rulamka, a Texas man, was arrested after a violent incident aboard an American Airlines flight from Wichita to Washington, D.C. on March 5.
Rulamka allegedly threatened a flight attendant, assaulted one passenger, and attempted to strike another before being restrained by crew and fellow passengers.
The FBI affidavit states that Rulamka told agents he was traveling to D.C. to speak with President Trump because he was 'mad.'
One passenger sustained a bruised and bloodshot eye, while another suffered a cut finger and broken fingernail during the altercation.
Rulamka faces a federal assault charge and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing in Virginia on Thursday; he is also under investigation for a 2014 immigration violation.
