Overview

• U.S. Attorney Nicholas J. Ganjei announced a federal charge of unlawful possession of a firearm against Savin Seng, 41, following the Oct. 3 shooting death of a woman near Victoria, Texas.
• The criminal complaint alleges a witness identified Seng as the shooter, that his phone with an image of a Glock and extended magazine was found at the scene, and that he was arrested less than a mile away.
• Agents say Seng had a loaded Glock 17 and a loaded 31‑round extended magazine on his person when taken into custody.
• Court documents note an active 2022 Los Angeles homicide warrant for Seng and state he is an admitted member of the Asian Boyz gang.
• Records state Seng never held lawful immigration status, was ordered removed as an aggravated felon in April 2016 but not physically deported, and the case is being pursued under Operation Take Back America.
