Texas GOP Reps. Michael Burgess and Pat Fallon Announce They Won't Seek Reelection

Burgess's Departure Leaves Third Dallas-Area Seat Open in 2024 House Elections

Longtime GOP congressman Michael Burgess and two-term Republican representative Pat Fallon, both from Texas, have announced they won't run for reelection.
Burgess, who has held his post for two decades, was an obstetrician by trade and emerged as a key GOP voice on health care issues.
Pat Fallon, who served one term in the Texas Senate before running for Congress in 2020, has filed to run for the Texas Senate again.
Burgess and Fallon join other Texas Republicans, including Rep. Kay Granger, who have recently announced their departures from Congress.
Burgess's departure leaves the third Dallas-area seat open in the 2024 House elections.
