Texas Embalmer Charged with Mutilating Deceased Sex Offender's Body

Amber Paige Laudermilk, 34, faces charges for allegedly castrating the corpse of Charles Roy Rodriguez while working at a Houston funeral home.

Amber Paige Laudermilk, an embalmer in Houston, has been charged with abuse of a corpse after allegedly mutilating the body of Charles Roy Rodriguez, a deceased registered sex offender.
Witnesses claim Laudermilk used a scalpel to stab Rodriguez's groin, castrate him, and place the severed organ in his mouth during a cremation preparation in February 2025.
Laudermilk allegedly threatened an embalming trainee who witnessed the act, telling her, 'You didn’t see anything,' in a manner perceived as threatening.
Rodriguez, who died of natural causes in January, had a criminal history that included a 2001 charge of sexual assault, for which he received 10 years of Deferred Adjudication.
Law enforcement emphasized that the law requires deceased individuals to be treated with dignity, regardless of their past, and that Laudermilk is expected to turn herself in following the issuance of an arrest warrant.
