Texas, Delaware, and Florida to Begin and Conclude Monthly SNAP Payments

Texas, Delaware, and Florida continue implementing federal SNAP program with monthly payments varying by household size; payments for food and nonalcoholic beverages to be distributed over the first few weeks of each month.

  • States like Texas, Delaware, and Florida begin Snap payments in the first few days of each month, distributing them over several weeks. The payout amounts depend on the sizes of the households.
  • In Texas, the SNAP payments for November aim to distribute up to $1,751, with payments beginning on November 1. The receipt date for recipients will depend on their eligibility determination group number.
  • SNAP in Delaware schedules its payment distribution to start on the second day of each month and continues to disburse payments for most of the month. Eligibility for SNAP benefits is determined by the household's total income which should not exceed twice the federal poverty level.
  • In Florida, SNAP beneficiaries receive their payments between the 1st and the 28th of every month. Around 13% of Florida's population, approximately 2.85 million people, are recipients of SNAP benefits.
  • All three states load SNAP payments onto state-specific benefits cards, which can only be used for food and non-alcoholic drink purchases. These benefits cards function similarly to a credit card, but cannot be used for luxury items or bills unrelated to food.
