Texas 'Band Dads' Disarm Elderly Gunman at High School Event

Four fathers with military and police backgrounds subdued an 83-year-old shooter within minutes, preventing further harm during a band competition in Pasadena, Texas.

The shooter, 83-year-old Dennis Erwin Brandl Jr., entered Pasadena Memorial High School and fired a small-caliber handgun, injuring a percussion consultant in the shoulder.
Four fathers, known as the 'Pearland Band Dads,' used their military and law enforcement training to disarm and restrain the gunman within 60 seconds of the shooting.
Brandl, who claimed he believed he and his wife were being chased and targeted, was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and is being held without bond.
The injured victim is in stable condition at a local hospital and is expected to make a full recovery, according to police and school officials.
