- Gov. Greg Abbott has ordered the Texas Division of Emergency Management to activate state emergency response assets to prepare for multiple rounds of heavy rain and possible flash flooding.
- The activation pre-positions specific rescue and response teams, including swiftwater rescue squads, urban search-and-rescue crews, Texas National Guard personnel and helicopters, DPS tactical marine units, Parks and Wildlife boat teams, and medical task force resources.
- The National Weather Service forecasts a moisture-rich pattern of slow-moving thunderstorms capable of producing heavy rainfall, localized flash floods, damaging wind gusts and large hail across broad parts of North, West, Central, South and East Texas.
- State agencies will monitor road conditions, power and natural gas systems, and environmental impacts while urging residents to prepare emergency kits, review family plans and never drive through flooded roadways.
