Overview

  • The team said Monday it will move Mixon from the active to the reserve/non-football injury list on Tuesday after an offseason foot/ankle injury sustained away from team activities.
  • Under NFL rules, NFI designees cannot play or practice for at least four games, making Week 5 at Baltimore the earliest possible return.
  • Mixon’s absence sidelines a 2024 Pro Bowler who logged 1,016 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns in his first season with Houston.
  • Houston has provided little medical detail and said further updates will come "at an appropriate time."
  • With Mixon out, Houston plans to feature Chubb with Dameon Pierce, Dare Ogunbowale and rookie Woody Marks supporting for games against the Rams, Buccaneers, Jaguars and Titans.
