Texans Name Rookie C.J. Stroud Starting Quarterback After Impressive Preseason Showing

Stroud threw his first NFL touchdown pass in the Texans' preseason finale win over the Saints.
Head coach DeMeco Ryans announced Stroud as the starter, citing his steady improvement throughout training camp and the preseason.
Stroud was selected No. 2 overall in the 2023 draft after a standout college career at Ohio State.
He beat out incumbent Davis Mills, who will now be Stroud's backup.
Stroud will make his highly anticipated regular season debut against the Ravens on September 10th.
