Teton Ridge Secures Rights to Adapt Larry McMurtry's 'Lonesome Dove' Series

The entertainment company plans to develop new film and TV adaptations of the Pulitzer Prize-winning Western novels.

Teton Ridge Entertainment has acquired the film and TV rights to Larry McMurtry's acclaimed 'Lonesome Dove' series from the author's estate.
The planned adaptations will begin with the first novel, 'Lonesome Dove,' and extend to the rest of the tetralogy, including 'Streets of Laredo,' 'Dead Man's Walk,' and 'Comanche Moon.'
The original 'Lonesome Dove' novel, published in 1986, won a Pulitzer Prize and inspired a highly successful 1989 miniseries that garnered multiple awards.
Teton Ridge, known for its focus on Western-themed content, aims to bring the series' timeless themes to a new generation of audiences.
The production team includes Thomas Tull, Jillian Share, Jon Jashni, Curtis McMurtry, and Diana Ossana, with no confirmation yet on whether the new adaptations will be films, TV series, or both.
