Tessa Thompson's Viva Maude Signs First-Look Film Deal with Amazon MGM Studios

The deal includes the production of 'Hedda', a reimagining of Ibsen’s classic play, among over 20 projects in development.

Tessa Thompson's production company, Viva Maude, has signed a multiyear first-look film deal with Amazon MGM Studios.
Under the deal, Amazon Studios will have the first option to produce and distribute any films developed by Viva Maude.
Viva Maude and Amazon Studios are currently in production on 'Hedda', a reimagining of Henrik Ibsen’s classic play 'Hedda Gabler', starring Thompson and directed by Nia DaCosta.
Viva Maude is developing more than 20 feature films and television projects across different genres.
Thompson, known for her acting roles in films like 'Creed', 'Thor: Ragnarok', and 'Selma', launched Viva Maude in 2020 with the goal of developing bold, genre-defying content.
