Tesla plans to raise the pay of hourly workers at its Nevada Gigafactory by approximately 10% in January.
The pay raise comes amid a unionization push from the United Auto Workers (UAW) union.
Other non-union automakers like Honda and Toyota have also recently raised workers’ wages following the UAW’s deal with the Big Three automakers.
Tesla's CEO Elon Musk has expressed his disagreement with the idea of unions, stating that if Tesla is eventually unionized, it would be due to a failure on the company's part.
The UAW has set its sights on unionization pushes at non-union automakers such as Tesla.
