Tesla to Open Third Megapack Factory in Texas, Creating 1,500 Jobs

The facility near Houston will focus on battery storage manufacturing and is expected to boost Tesla's growing energy business.

Tesla plans to establish a new Megapack manufacturing facility in Waller County, Texas, near Houston, as confirmed by a tax abatement agreement with local officials.
The factory will occupy a 1-million-square-foot building in the Empire West Industrial Park, with an additional 600,000-square-foot distribution facility planned.
Tesla is investing $194 million in facility upgrades and equipment, supported by a tax abatement deal that includes $44 million in property improvements and $150 million in manufacturing equipment.
The new factory is expected to create approximately 1,500 jobs and contribute significantly to Tesla's expanding energy storage business, which includes similar facilities in California and China.
When operational, the facility could produce tens of thousands of Megapacks annually, potentially generating $20–30 billion in revenue per year.
