Tesla strengthens India retail network with ₹24.4 crore Kurla West service centre lease

This lease underlines Tesla’s plan to scale its imported EV sales network ahead of its India market debut in late 2025.

  • Tesla India Motor & Energy signed a five-year lease for 24,565 sq ft at Lodha Logistics Park in Kurla West, Mumbai, at a total rent of ₹24.38 crore with a 5 per cent annual escalation.
  • The ground-floor facility will serve as a service centre and garage—excluding bodywork and spray painting—with rent payments commencing June 1 after a brief rent-free period.
  • Tesla has secured flagship showroom leases in Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex and Delhi NCR’s Aerocity along with a 30-seat managed office near BKC to support its retail rollout.
  • Union Heavy Industries Minister H D Kumaraswamy confirmed that Tesla will focus on selling imported electric vehicles in India and has no immediate plans for local manufacturing.
  • The company is positioning its network of showrooms and service hubs for an official market launch in India’s electric vehicle segment in the fourth quarter of the financial year.
