Overview

• Tesla has formally disbanded its in-house Dojo supercomputer project and reassigned remaining team members to other compute initiatives.
• Peter Bannon, who led the Dojo effort, has left Tesla and roughly 20 former team members have departed to found DensityAI.
• DensityAI was established by ex-Dojo head Ganesh Venkataramanan along with Bill Chang and Ben Floering to build AI data center chips, hardware and software.
• Tesla secured a $16.5 billion contract with Samsung to manufacture its AI6 inference chips.
• The company plans to increase its reliance on external technology partners including Nvidia, AMD and Samsung for future AI compute power.
