Overview

  • All new Model 3s on Tesla's China configurator now include a physical turn signal stalk as standard across trims.
  • Tesla's factory-backed retrofit, listed as the Model 3 Steering Wheel Turn Signal Lever Modification, costs ¥2,499 (about $349) and will be installed at Service Centers starting mid-September.
  • Initial eligibility covers Highland models built after February 7, 2025, with Tesla saying earlier build dates will be added later without a timetable.
  • The retrofit swaps in a new steering wheel assembly, requires trained technicians, and Tesla will recycle the removed parts while warning that self-install could affect warranty.
  • The offering is limited to China for now with no announced rollout for the U.S. or other markets, as third-party kits have filled the gap in the meantime.
