Overview
- The recall covers 2024 Cybertrucks built from Nov. 13, 2023 to Nov. 5, 2024, according to an Oct. 28 NHTSA filing.
- An engineering study in October identified the BetaPrime primer as unsuitable for bonding the light bar to the windshield, with the issue tied to installation process rather than a supplier defect.
- Tesla will inspect the accessory and either replace it using tape with a positive mechanical attachment or retrofit a mechanical attachment at no cost, with owner letters scheduled for Dec. 26.
- Tesla reported 619 warranty claims and one field report related to the problem and said it is not aware of any crashes or injuries.
- The action affects roughly 10% of the known Cybertruck fleet and represents the 10th safety notice for the model since its 2023 launch.
