Tesla Recalls 1.7 Million Vehicles in China for Hood Lock Defect

The recall addresses a software issue that may cause the hood to open while driving, posing a safety risk.

The recall involves Model S, X, 3, and Y vehicles produced between October 2020 and July 2024.
Tesla will implement an over-the-air software update to notify drivers when the hood is unlocked.
This is Tesla's largest recall in China, affecting nearly all cars sold in the past four years.
A similar recall was issued in the US for over 1.8 million vehicles due to the same defect.
Tesla will repair any vehicles with faulty trunk latches free of charge.
