Tesla Launches Model Y Standard in Europe at €39,990, Retaining Features Cut in U.S.

The rollout highlights a de-contented entry trim tailored by region to meet price targets and production constraints.

Overview

  • Built in Germany for select European markets, the Model Y Standard keeps an FM radio, Basic Autopilot lane‑centring and power‑folding mirrors, features removed from the U.S. version.
  • European pricing starts at €39,990, undercutting the rebranded Model Y Premium at €49,990 by €10,000.
  • Tesla previously announced on X that the Model Y Standard and Model 3 Standard are its lowest‑priced trims in the U.S., at $39,990 and $36,990 respectively.
  • Cost cuts for the Standard trims include deleted front and rear LED light strips, the 8‑inch rear touchscreen, ventilated front seats and heated rear seats, plus a covered glass roof and more cloth interior trim.
  • Australia is not slated to receive the Standard variants due to lack of Shanghai production and no right‑hand‑drive version, and the cheaper Model 3 remains U.S.‑only as reports indicate Autosteer is omitted on Standard trims with restoration possibly via subscription.
