Tesla Launches California Pilot to Rent Premium EVs for 3–7 Days With Free Charging and FSD

The program targets prospective buyers following the lapse of federal EV tax credits.

Overview

The time-limited pilot is active at two stores in San Diego and Costa Mesa, with rentals restricted to in-state use only.
Rentals run three to seven days with the first 48 hours free, include unlimited mileage, free Supercharging, Full Self-Driving (Supervised), and app access.
Pricing starts at $60 per day for Model 3 and Model Y, $75 for Cybertruck, and $90 for Model S and Model X.
Only Premium trims are available; renters must be 21 or older with a valid U.S. driver’s license, credit card, and proof of insurance, and the offer runs through the end of 2025.
Customers who order a vehicle within seven days receive up to a $250 purchase credit, while a $30 fee applies if the car is returned below 50% charge.
