Tesla Announces Apple Watch App for Vehicle Control

The new watchOS app will allow Tesla owners to use their Apple Watch as a digital car key and access key vehicle functions.

Tesla's upcoming watchOS app will enable Apple Watch users to lock, unlock, and start their vehicles, replacing the need for third-party apps.
The app will also allow users to check battery levels, open the trunk and frunk, and adjust climate control settings remotely.
The Apple Watch app will be included in Tesla's 2024 Holiday Update, rolling out as an over-the-air update starting next week.
Tesla owners currently rely on smartphone apps or NFC-based key cards, but the watchOS app adds a new layer of convenience for Apple Watch users.
Additional updates in the Holiday release include improved Dashcam & Sentry Mode functionality, navigation enhancements, and playful features like seat-activated sound effects.
