Tesla Aims to Produce 200,000 Cybertrucks Annually, Upcoming Model to Feature Beast Mode and Bulletproof Option

Tesla CEO Elon Musk reveals on a podcast that deliveries of the long-awaited electric pickup truck Cybertruck are set to begin on Nov. 30, bulletproof options will be available, and a "beast mode" version is planned; however, Musk warns that the scaling of production for this innovative vehicle will be challenging.

  • Tesla is planning to produce 200,000 units of the Cybertruck, an electric pickup truck, per year, according to CEO Elon Musk.
  • The Cybertruck will have a 'beast mode' version which can go from 0 to 60 in below 3 seconds. It will weigh between 6,000 to 7,000 pounds, depending on the configuration.
  • Bulletproof options, including stainless steel body panels and thick glass windows that remain immobile due to their thickness, will also be available for the Cybertruck.
  • Deliveries of the Cybertruck are set to begin on Nov. 30, four years after its initial unveiling, despite facing 'enormous challenges' in ramping up production and becoming cash-flow positive.
  • Despite the ambitious production goal, Musk has warned of the difficulty of manufacturing the Cybertruck given the large amount of new technology involved.
