Tesco, Waitrose and Lidl Recall Pâté, Bottled Water and Side Dish Over Safety Risks

Retailers working with the Food Standards Agency urge immediate returns for refunds to reduce risks from mislabelling, glass contamination, undeclared allergens.

Overview

  • Tesco withdrew three pâtés after an incorrect use-by date created a potential microbiological risk, making them unsafe to eat.
  • The affected Tesco items are 170g packs of Coarse Farmhouse, Coarse Ardennes and Smooth Chicken Liver Pâté, with a January 5 use-by date.
  • Waitrose recalled No.1 Deeside Mineral and Sparkling Water in 750ml bottles due to possible glass fragments, with specific batch codes and best-before dates in November and December 2027.
  • Lidl GB recalled Deluxe Red Cabbage with Apple, Dried Cranberries & Spices because milk is not clearly declared, posing a risk to people with milk allergies or intolerances.
  • Customers are told not to consume the listed products, to return them for full refunds, and to note in-store point-of-sale notices; Lidl has also notified relevant allergy support organisations.
