Tesco Relaunches Free Fruit for Kids in 800+ Stores From Dec. 30 to Jan. 13

The giveaway leads a January health drive that adds Clubcard incentives to encourage families to buy more fruit and veg.

Overview

  • Children can collect free British-grown apples at checkouts in more than 800 large stores, with Click & Collect distribution at 119 locations.
  • Tesco expects to hand out over three million apples during the two-week run, with no purchase required.
  • The fruit is sourced from six UK suppliers under the retailer’s ‘Less To Pay For Five-a-Day’ initiative.
  • From January 12, selected customers will get Clubcard Challenges to earn points on fresh and frozen produce, beans and pulses, canned and dried fruit and veg, alongside new Clubcard prices.
  • The push builds on Tesco’s Fruit & Veg for Schools programme, which delivered over 10 million portions to about 140,000 children last year and is expanding in 2025/26.
