- Waitrose recalled 500g Rhubarb Crumble with a use-by date of 19/08/2026 after oats (gluten) were detected but not declared on the label, and the pack included home-freezing guidance that helped identify the affected batch.
- Both supermarkets and the FSA warned people with relevant allergies or coeliac disease not to eat the products and instructed customers to return affected packs for a full refund, with Tesco confirming refunds will be given without a receipt.
- Retailers said no other products or batches are affected; consumers should check pack size and use-by dates carefully and follow regulator guidance because undeclared mustard or oats can trigger severe reactions including anaphylaxis or illness for people with coeliac disease.
