Tequila Lab Opens Free Weekend Tastings in Guadalajara

The free weekend tastings aim to deepen public knowledge of tequila's Denominación de Origen, boosting cultural tourism in the Guadalajara metro area.

Overview

  • The Consejo Regulador del Tequila announced Friday that Tequila Lab will open the weekends of June 19–21 and June 26–28 for in-person, distillery-led tastings from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Entry to Tequila Lab during the promotion is free and tastings are limited to visitors of legal drinking age, with participating casas tequileras offering guided samples.
  • Tequila Lab presents immersive exhibits, audiovisuals, interactive installations and site-specific artworks by Carlos Terrés and Camilo Ramírez to explain tequila production and regional identity.
  • Key visitor draws include the Bosque de Agaves and a Guinness World Record collection of 3,199 different tequila bottles that CRT uses to show the category's variety.
  • CRT frames the activation around the Paisaje Agavero UNESCO designation and Mexico's first Denominación de Origen for tequila to connect landscape conservation, local producers and cultural tourism.
