Overview
- The Sala Superior validated the Tribunal de Disciplina Judicial election by a 3–2 vote, leaving the majority certificates in force.
- Mónica Soto, Felipe de la Mata and Felipe Fuentes formed the majority, while Janine Otálora and Reyes Rodríguez dissented and pressed for annulment over alleged use of “acordeones.”
- The court cited 87 printed guides, three videos and 16 Facebook posts as insufficient proof, noting INE records of impacts in only 13 of more than 70,000 polling stations and no established coercion, party involvement or illegal financing.
- Winners were ratified as Celia Maya García, Eva Verónica de Gyvés, Bernardo Bátiz Vázquez, Indira Isabel García Pérez and Rufino H. León Tovar, with Maya set to preside and the five slated to be sworn in before the Senate on September 1.
- The ruling also reaffirmed INE agreements declaring the broader 2024–2025 extraordinary judicial election valid, as the Mexican Bar Association warned the decision undermines credibility by normalizing the guides.
