Tennessee State to Become First HBCU with NCAA Division I Ice Hockey Program

Tennessee State University is partnering with the Nashville Predators to start an ice hockey program, the first at an HBCU.
The partnership raised $1 million to fund scholarships and other costs to establish the program.
The goal is for TSU to have Division I men's and women's ice hockey teams.
TSU may first join the American Collegiate Hockey Association before moving to NCAA Division I.
The Predators and TSU already had an existing relationship that facilitated the new hockey partnership.
