Tennessee Couple Arrested for Locking Autistic Child in Filthy Storage Trunk

Authorities discovered the 7-year-old non-verbal child living in unsanitary conditions during a search of the home.

Mikki Dee Moody, 36, and Sean David Moody, 39, were charged with aggravated child abuse and neglect.
Investigators found the child in a storage trunk with urine-soaked blankets, a pillow, and food.
The home contained exposed wiring and animal and human feces on the floor.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and Carter County Sheriff's Office led the investigation.
The child has been placed under the care of the Department of Children's Services.
