Overview

• A joint operation by the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit of MBVV police with Exodus Road India Foundation and Harmony Foundation rescued the Bangladeshi minor from a Naigaon flat on July 26.
• Ten people have been arrested so far, including six Bangladeshi nationals and alleged agents Mohammad Khalid Abdul Bapari, Juber Harun Sheikh and Shamim Gafar Sardar.
• The girl told investigators she was moved to Nadiad, Navi Mumbai, Pune and locations in Karnataka where she was sexually abused by over 200 men during a three-month period.
• Police say victims were controlled with sedatives, hormonal injections to induce early puberty and branding with a hot spoon to enforce submission.
• Cases have been registered under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, POCSO Act, Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act and Juvenile Justice Act while officers trace the wider trafficking network across three states.
