Ten Arrested as Mossos Dismantle Two Linked Gangs Behind Truck Raids and Ram-Raid Burglaries

Police leadership is deploying a force-wide plan to curb road crime after thousands of complaints on Catalonia’s high-capacity roads.

Overview

  • Investigators from Sarrià-Sant Gervasi led the case, first searching a Cabrera de Mar farm used as a stash site before conducting raids in Barcelona, Montcada i Reixac and Terrassa.
  • Police attribute 41 ram-raid offences to one group and 38 truck robberies to the other, noting both cells shared stolen high-end cars and vans to carry out the crimes.
  • Six stolen vehicles were recovered along with goods from at least 14 truck thefts valued at more than €500,000, including cosmetics, clothing and electronics.
  • Most of the detainees have already appeared before a judge, and one suspect was remanded to prison, according to La Vanguardia.
  • The takedown follows a surge of roughly 3,800 road-crime complaints through late November, with the AP-7 flagged as a hotspot and Mossos moving to coordinate a broader response despite limited dedicated investigators.
