Tempsens Instruments Doubles on Debut With 111% Listing Gain

Investor demand pushed the stock higher on expectations of growth from industrial automation.

Overview

  • Tempsens, which listed on Friday, August 28, 2026, opened near Rs 634 on the NSE and about Rs 631 on the BSE, giving roughly a 111% gain from the Rs 300 issue price.
  • The Rs 650 crore IPO combined a Rs 95 crore fresh issue and a Rs 555 crore offer for sale and was massively oversubscribed about 184 times overall after anchor allocations that raised about Rs 194.5 crore.
  • Tempsens plans to use fresh proceeds for targeted capital expenditure including Rs 18 crore for electrical heating and specialised cable solutions and about Rs 55 crore to prepay or meet scheduled loan repayments with the balance for general corporate needs.
  • Founded in 1990, the Udaipur-based maker of temperature sensors and heating solutions holds an estimated 10.5% share of India’s temperature-sensor market, exports to more than 80 countries and reported multi-year revenue and profit growth ahead of the IPO.
  • Analysts warn of concrete risks to monitor including a single manufacturing base in Udaipur, customer and supplier concentration and exposure to cyclical sectors such as metals and petrochemicals, and investors will watch near-term execution and demand for signs the valuation is justified.
